We've adapted our original books into a series of interactive stories made with handcrafted stop-motion!  

Our first appisodes, “Windy’s Lost Kite”, "Foggy's Big Fright", "Sunny's Dark Night", "Mild & Mellow's Holiday Light", and "Snowy & Chinook's Birthday Invite" are already available (with 4 more appisodes coming soon). Available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. 

You can explore our new stories by touching and swiping your screen. You can also put the appisode on autoplay mode to have the story read to you.  

Each appisode comes with two special bonus games. For example, “Windy’s Lost Kite” comes with a map of Windy’s world which you can touch to find words and a soundboard that let’s you put together a song.

Our new app is being developed by the award-winning innovators at Loud Crow. We will be joining Peanuts (Snoopy!) and Richard Scarry's Busytown. We can't wait!

Until now, the colourful handcrafted world of Windy & Friends has only existed in the the pages of books. This Fall, Windy & Friends will launch the first of 10 educational story apps in the iTunes store, with new episodes becoming available throughout the year.

Combining traditional crafting and stop-motion animation with interactive technology, children can fully immerse themselves in Windy’s world. Each episode uses everyday adventures to encourage curiosity & creativity while solving simple problems.

Character-driven stories celebrate individuality while demonstrating kindness & collaboration. The unmistakable aesthetic imagined by creators Judith Steedman & Robin Mitchell-Cranfield translates beautifully when brought to virtual life.

In each book of the original Windy series, we included a craft tutorial taken from the story. Crafts and activities are an important part of the experience — tactile experiences are one of the best ways to support exploration and learning. We will continue this, offering a craft tutorial or activity with each episode that we release. In our crafts and activities we like to emphasize the experience and exploration over picture-perfect results. We also like to encourage nature exploration and working together co-operatively.

You can find some of our original activities and tutorials on our blog. Our pinterest board have ideas that we like, taken from the community.

The original series of 4 books is now out of print: Windy (sold out), Sunny (sold out), Snowy & Chinook and Foggy. Sunny and Snowy & Chinook each contain a CD of original music.

These hard cover books are 6 x 6", printed in Italy. Each book's dust jacket contains printed instructions for an activity from the book.

This is the world of Windy: In the middle is the Orchard, where Windy lives with Old Al and the Chickens. To the north is the Woods, where Snowy and her little sister, Chinook live in a cozy pencil cabin with their neighbour, Tulip. To the east (Seaward ho!) we find the campsite of Jean Cloud and his dog Foggy. To the west is the fun City where we find Mild & Mellow, Sunny and Spring.
